Urban Decay Naked 2

I had been um-ing and ah-ing about getting the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette for quite some time. I had seen great reviews on it but I just couldn't bring myself to pay the crazy price us girls in Australia have to spend to get it. I waited it out a couple of months and I was just browsing through beautybay.com when I noticed it had gone down a little in price and I just happened to have a voucher for 10% off so I decided to just go ahead and do it. I ended up paying $45 for it and let me tell you, this palette is TOTALLY worth the money.

I was so worried I would waste my money purchasing it and regret it down the line but this palette is amazing. I'm in love with it. You get 12 'Naked' shades to play with in matte, shimmer and glitter textures and I can see it being my baby for a long time.

First off the casing. It's very a sturdy metal case which clips open and shut with ease, the raised writing on the top of the case is very nice and you can tell it's been made incredibly well. I really like the design of how it's presented, how the palette itself sits in a very thick cardboard cutout which lists the eyeshadows included on the back and also has a cute little compartment for the added goodie, the Naked Lip Junkie Lipgloss! The Lip Junkie smells super good, if you've ever eaten mint aero chocolate, it smells just like it!

When you open up the palette there's a handy mirror inside which is a great size and a double ended full size brush. The brush itself isn't really anything to go mad about. The crease and shadow brush is a little stiff for my liking but it is a nice bonus.

As you can see there is a great range of colours, I've found that the mattes tend to take a little more to get a good colour going on and the glitters tend to have a bit of fall-out when applied (which is expected I guess with a glitter eyeshadow). Every colour included is wearable. I've had a lot of fun the past couple of days playing with the colours seeing what looks good with what and I can honestly say I no longer go for any of my other palettes for my everyday look. This is the perfect palette if you love doing a natural eye or even if you want to smoke things up and go for something more dramatic.

I'm so, SO happy with my purchase. I really do think this is my best purchase in make-up so far and I really think it was worth the money. Investing in a palette like this is an awesome idea, I spend way too much on smaller, cheaper palettes that never live up to my expectations which ends up being more costly in the end, than buying something like this which is amazing quality and will be used constantly.

Oh Urban Decay, how I love you.

  1. Totally agreed - it's better to buy one pricey but amazing product than many crappy or inferior ones that end up costing the same amount (or even more!). I love this palette so I can understand your sentiments about it :)

    1. Yeah I want the first one too now haha. I went for the second one first just 'cause I thought the colours were more wearable.

  3. I bought this about two months back and am still as in love as when I first bought it, Almost everything else got pushed to the back of the draw because of this. :)
